Hello everyone,
I am Sakib Mahmud and I have completed MIS107 during the fall’19 semester with our beloved faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan.
MIS107 is an introductory course which familiarizes students with management information system. This course is a bit technical but the faculty has easy examples and diagrams to make it simple. In this era of modern science and technology, the priority of information technology is increasing at a rapid rate. This course will allow you to take a look into how MIS actually works and will be beneficial to your future career in a lot of ways.
After knowing that there is a “Hall of Fame” section it has been my goal to be there upon my completion of the course. Finally, I have been blessed to have a chance to be here. The “Hall of Fame” section has motivated not only me but also a lot of my course mates to strive for a good grade. Kudos to Mr. Khan for creating such a unique feature in his website to inspire students. I have followed some simple and efficient strategies to secure an A. I will be adding them here. I hope they will be helpful for you as well.
- My first advice would be to listen to the lectures carefully and attentively. There are a lot of bonuses which you can easily obtain only if you stay attentive and trust me on this, these bonuses will really help you to achieve your desired grade.
- Please use the course website. Our respected faculty has made an amazing website for us to use. There are everything you need regarding this course in the website. This website will be your partner throughout this course and if you use the resources efficiently, this course will be a piece of cake to you.
- Understand the course, focus on the class, take relevant notes. The classes uses a lot of diagrams. Try to understand the diagrams and the course will go smooth for you
- Maintain professionalism, it is a managerial course. You are expected to dress and act professionally. Also be punctual, attend the classes on regular basis and on time. A lot of information is given in every class so you shouldn’t miss them.
- You will be able to find previous questions in the course website. Please solve them before the mids and the final. If you have a clear understanding of the previous question you will be able to score high marks in the exams
- Give the IOAs in the website. The faculty will describe them properly in class. The IOAs will also help you to get high scores in mids and finals because you will find a lot of questions repeated there.
- Do the assignments. Choose your group mates wisely and do all the GAs. Don’t forget to take bonus here as well.
- Follow the slides, especially the diagrams. You will find a lot of diagrams directly from the slides in the exam. So if you understand and memorize the diagrams it will be easy for you to answer.
- Make proper use of the office hours. He is very helpful and appreciate students.
In conclusion, I found the course fun and interesting. If you follow the lectures and make use of the website and materials you will surely be able to secure a good grade. I will repeat this again, make sure you get all the bonuses, they are very easy to obtain! Best of luck to you all. I hope you all will enjoy this course.
