MIS207 @ 2016 Fall

Hello everyone,

I am Nabila Haque Khan. I did my MIS205 course with Adeyl Khan Sir at Fall 2016. It was an honour doing this course with Sir and I obtained an A- by following some of the strategies which are as follows:

First of all you need to be professional and objective in class.

Attending every class is important and for that you can get bonuses as well.

Taking down notes is a very helpful during the class and especially the practical examples are very helpful for better understanding his lectures.

IOAs and LABs are like the head of all the exams. You need to be very punctual about the submission and be professional about the IOAs as these would help you the most throughout the semester.

Team work is an essential thing for the group assignments and term project. So form your group carefully and wisely.

Practice previous semester’s question papers and prepare well before the exams.

And last but not the least; CHEATSHEETS are your best friends during the exam. So make them very proficiently and utilize each inch of your paper so that during the exam nothing holds you back.

The faculty helps out during the office hours. I found him one of the most supporting faculties at NSU. Make sure all your problems are relevant and authentic regarding your course materials.

All the above points will definitely help you achieve a good grade but most of all you need to be focused and serious in your studies and InShaa Allah you will be able to achieve an outstanding result as well.

For a good grade, we need to work stay updated and follow the instructions.

1. You need to be proficient in the English language
2. Studying Pattern: We all know that faculty nowadays are not dependent on books. The presentation will not have all the materials of the book nor the course. The faculty will explain the difficult and important parts only leaving you with obvious aspect to read from the book. So Pay Attention in the class, come early, ask questions if you do not understand and verify your ideas with the faculty. Again, if you have to read the book thoroughly and without falter. It is better if you review the chapter by reading the book after each class. Pay Attention to the presentation and understand the IOAs to prepare for MIDS and FINALS. Before examination, take prior 3 days to read each of the chapter each day, and revising it with friends. And do not forget to revise the sample exam which can be found in the website from previous exams.
3. One should have an open mindfulness. Without it, you will not absorb, you will be finding arguments and logic, where you will lose the ability to learn quickly and efficiently. For that one must let go of their ego, and absorb the teachings of the course. Teacher is not the only learning source, you must seek the help of friends, and yes, you have make friends and communicate with them time to time.
4. IOAs are one of the important fundamental indicators by the faculty to give you the hint on examination style and pattern, learn them well. When you are stuck, and you know you cannot get it into your head, our faculty gives us the luxury to make a cheat sheet. Teacher allows this because the exam is abstruse.
5. Term paper, assignments and lab, these are the building blocks to the world of technology and computing. Wherever you go you will need these skill. So try to be professional in this things (Always be professional in the class too since it will help you to be professional in the job world also). The lab will give you the practical knowledge on how database management works, and how the CRM, HRM, etc. software works. Please practice them at home, because they carry marks nevertheless. In terms of assignments and term paper, for most reasons, it will not be the same as other courses. It will be more practical, and it will be based on and off course materials. This will allow you to think nobly and critically. Your creativity will jab your brain, overloading it with new ways of thinking and implementing. Please organize yourself and your team, and work collectively, create synergy, motive together to take part actively and keep on communicating and be updated about all the information, by your team. Public Speaking is a great tool in this course, and in your life. Please note that you are not only presenting yourself, and the content, you are representing the team, and your idea. Remember to choose a well decorated organization from where you will be able to access information regarding the term paper and other things.

Hello Everyone

Getting A is not an easy task, yes we all know this. But trust me this is a course where you have to be a tricky learner and a bit of hard worker to get an A. Here I am suggesting you some of my tricks that I have used to do get the best grade in this course. I prepared my plan, acted accordingly and end of the semester got A-. It’s that simple. Let me tell you the roadmap for getting success in this course:

1. Attend each and every class. You will be surprised to see the reward for attending all classes at the end of the semester.

2. Do not miss any of the IOA’s. Attend each of them within the scheduled time. It will help you to get the relief of preparing yourself for the MID terms and FINAL exam (MCQ/TF). Because you will get more than 90% (MCQ/TF) questions from the IOA’s in your MID terms.

3. Prepare your cheat sheet properly. It’s a great helping tool for you. Utilize it.

4. Solve the previous semester questions and mock tests for getting common question for Short/Broad question part.

5. Submit all the GA’s and LAB’s on time.

6. Be professional in your dress up, attitude and in class participation. You will be rewarded at the end of the semester for maintaining all of this.

Last but not the least, I would recommend you to make a plan for the semester. If you are smart and hard worker it’s your turn to get an A in this course.

MIS205 is one of the most informative and interesting courses to study as it teaches about the foundation of E-Business. The best thing is that it can be easily related to real life unlike most courses.

The path to success is not easy. If you want to get A, you have to work hard, be dedicated and most of all, be professional. You have to attend classes regularly, be attentive and listen lectures carefully, take class notes, keep an open mind and think outside the box and be a good team player. Prepare yourself strategically for midterms and final and be objective. Eat kacchi when you need to boost up ;) (believe me, it helps). Last but not the least, make the best use of the faculty’s office hours as he is really friendly and helpful.
