MIS207 @ 2021 Spring

Hello everyone,

I am Redwan Ahmed, and I completed my MIS207 (E-Business) course in Spring 2021, under the guidance of Mr. Adeyl Khan.

Just like the semester before, the Summer 2021 semester is also probably going to be entirely online. We are already quite used to online classes and aware of the most common problems we may face. So, I took steps to solve those common problems before they ruined my classes. 

I always made sure that my laptop and phone are fully charged before class started, so I can continue my classes in case of no electricity. I also made sure to keep backup data on my phone, especially during exams. I also checked my backup device from time to time to make sure everything is working correctly.

Since we usually had 24 hours or more to complete assignments, it was tempting to put study aside until the last moment. But from my experience, I can say that is a very bad idea. I focused mostly on the recorded Lecture Videos. It had less distraction than class recordings, and sir had enough time to explain the topics thoroughly and with many important details. 

During regular times, I watched the Lecture videos and studied the slides while making notes. And during the exam/assignment times, I used the notes to find the answers quickly.

As Information System is a topic that always interested me, I studied it to learn rather than to simply get a good score. I went through the textbook and online sources when I faced topics that I didn’t fully understand. I think that played an important role in me getting an A in this course.

Interactions with other classmates helped me immensely in handling the load of different courses. Don’t be shy to ask questions or share your opinions in the Facebook group or the chat. Knowing there are other people who I can rely on to a certain extent and they are going through the same problems as I gave me a lot of mental support and allowed me to relax a bit. 

To get a good grade in this course, you will have to make a habit of actively listening. Listen to the lecture videos and the class lectures. They will give you feedback when completing your assignments/exam papers, etc. 

Take part in all the optional works that give bonus marks and take them seriously as standard works. And if you face any problems that are beyond your control, communicate with the faculty. The faculty is rather accommodating of any request as long as it’s reasonable.

This is Shadman Sakib and I did Mis207 under Mr. Adeyl Khan, the one who made a 200 level course feel like it was as simple as a GED course. And Alhamdulilah I got an A. 

Since everything is online now, maintaining the necessary tools is crucial. For this, I always kept my laptop at full charge before class and purchased mobile data for backup. In terms of studying, the lecture videos which are available on YouTube are extremely beneficial. I used to go through the lecture slides and watch the videos for understanding each topic. During exams, I did the same but just a slight variation, I used to look at the class discussion videos (class recordings) in order to refresh my memories on how the topics were explained and related the topics with recent times (because the technology always keeps on advancing).

An important thing that helped me in having an edge over the other students is my interaction with the faculty as a class monitor. I believe the more you interact with a faculty, the better you get to learn and it also helps the faculty in evaluating your performance and assessing it. 

The course provides a lot of opportunities for gaining bonus marks, I would strongly recommend everyone to try and earn all of the bonus marks available because that is a huge helping hand in getting a good grade.

That fact that there are others courses alongside this course, I would suggest everyone to study and finish every day’s material on that or the next day so that the work doesn't pile up. This helps in staying in sync and focus.

This is Md Samiul Fahim. I hope everyone is doing great by the grace of almighty Allah. I have completed my MIS207 (E-Business) course in spring 2021 with Mr. Adeyl Khan. As the whole semester was online-based, the whole environment was quite different from the on-campus class.

You probably would like to end up with a decent grade if you are reading this. To obtain an A should indeed be a piece of cake for this course if the game is played correctly, trust me. Here are some tips that might be useful:

• You should attend all the classes. I speak from experience. Many students miss classes for many reasons. But if you want a good grade, you have to follow the class lectures. Being a regular student, you would not get much pressure before exams.
• A laptop/desktop that works is required. Otherwise, you have to face many difficulties. And make sure you have a backup data pack and a working webcam.
• Try to watch “Lecture Videos” from YouTube before classes. It will be very helpful for you for understanding.
• Don’t waste your time during exams. You may think that the allotted time is huge but that isn’t. Use your time wisely.
• During exams, don’t plagiarize from anywhere. You can take help from mindmaps. Use “Freeplane” software to access those mindmaps. Make sure you have a good knowledge of what you are writing. So that you can explain those ideas during the viva.
• Complete your labs very carefully. Don’t miss any step during labs. Try to follow instructions perfectly.
• There will be some bonus opportunities. Try to grab those chances in the best way. Those will impact your final grade greatly.

Finally, it can boost your scores significantly following these suggestions, but here is another hint. Remember that your instructor is not your opponent but he is considered as your ally.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. I'm Nafiza Kaniz Eren and I had an amazing experience completing this course under our honorable faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan.

The entire course was held online and you can imagine the challenge of managing a steady internet. Make sure that you don't forget to keep a backup for such cases. 

To achieve a good result you just have to pay attention and be responsible. Make sure to go through the lecture slides and note down all your doubts before you join the class. The lecture slides and all other important materials of this course are available on the course website. Go through the slides after a lecture has been delivered. It will help in capturing the contents instantly. Review the lectures and course books before every exam in order to be on your A-game. 

Take your attendance seriously and be present at all the classes. There is a bonus for that. There is a bonus session for every exam so make sure to attend them. Our teacher has been very helpful during the course and he is very generous in terms of giving bonuses.

Pay attention during class and practice sample questions before exams and quizzes. And also submit all your assignments and exam papers on time. Make sure to maintain good communication with fellow classmates. They can also help you with your queries.
