Assalamu alaikum and hello everyone!
I hope all of you are doing well. I am Farhana Yasmin, and I completed the Information Systems & Computer (MIS107) course under the guidance of our enthusiastic faculty, Mr.Adeyl Khan.
The course was online due to the pandemic. So having a stable internet connection was necessary, and I tried my best always to have mobile-data packages. Moreover, I always made sure to charge my laptop and looked for security updates at least an hour before a lesson started.
The course content might initially seem overwhelming given all the quizzes, labs, group projects, and exams. However, do not let that drive you away from your goals!
I tried to stay on track by watching the YouTube lecture videos the night before our class. It can be pretty challenging to do that around mid-semester, which was in my case because I had three other courses. Thus, I would recommend at least watching the first 20 to 30 minutes of the lecture videos. Another essential factor to ace in this course is to follow the mindmaps. Make your notes in a mindmap and supplement using lecture videos, classes, and slides because the course is more about understanding than memorizing.
Go through the sample papers before the exams. I would suggest reading the book alongside solving the sample papers. This will help to instill the management knowledge required for the course.
And, do not miss the bonus oral tests and lab! This is an opportunity not to be missed! Last but not least, try to make good friends and work on your communication skills.
I was terrified because there wasn’t anybody from my department. Fortunately, Alhamdulillah I made two wonderful friends, and we were in the same group. So without their enormous amount of help and guidance from the faculty, it would not be possible for me to excel in this course. And, always attend the classes on time and submit the assignments before due time!
