Hey everyone,
I am Shafil Noor. I was fortunate to complete the MIS107 – (Computer Information System) course with Mr. Adeyl Khan during the Summer 2020. The faculty was informative and practical which helped me to improve a few of my skills including typing and documentation. I know it’s very challenging doing classes during the pandemic situation. But trust me, if you work hard, nothing can stop you from getting an A. I will share some basic things that I followed during the online classes which others may not have done.

Online lectures: Watch the lecture videos carefully and review the mind maps. The mind maps are the most useful way to memorize and understand every topic in this course.

Group Assignment: My group got the highest in the group assignment Alhamdulillah. And the key to doing good here is to be as professional as possible and provide detailed information for every segment of the assignment.

During Class: Try to answer in class instead of staying quiet. I have been very vocal during the online classes. If you know an answer, do not be shy to answer it. Get your participation points as early as possible.

Participating: For participating, try to answer precisely. The faculty likes answers that are specific to the question.

Camera Solution: I know a lot of students do not have webcam or laptops during the online classes which makes the course difficult but trust me, I don’t have a camera too or a laptop. Log in with two devices. I made my phone the webcam and did classes on PC.

Power Solution: Keep multiple devices ready before exams. Power of our country can be very unpredictable and can go wrong. So always be sure you have a backup.

Internet Backup: Having a good WiFi connection is very important for online classes. Always have backup internet data on your phone for the important exams if required.

Lab Guideline: Follow instructions during Lab classes. It’s very easy. If you find anything difficult, just watch the class recording. You won’t find it difficult at all if you put in some time.

Bonus & Curves: The course is designed with loads of bonus marks! Don’t leave any of them. These marks will make difference like no other. There will be a curve as well.

Managing different courses: To reduce workload and pressure of courses, do not keep assignments of other courses unfinished. Finish them as soon as possible and you’ll not feel the pressure.

Caution: Lastly, but most importantly do not be late in submission. Submit in time if you do not want to get penalized.
These are all the tips I could provide you guys from my experience. Hope you guys have a wonderful experience in future. Believe me I never thought I could ace it in the course but just work hard and you will see your picture in the Hall of Fame too.
