MIS107 @ 2019 Fall

This is Hitoishi Anwar and I have completed the MIS107 (Computer Information System) under the guidance of our dearest and most amazing faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan during the fall’19 semester. This course is certainly not very easy but at the same time it is rather easy to achieve a decent grade if you are on the right track. The instructor provides every little details and even explain it nicely in class and through his websites.

• First of all, try to be regular in the class. Make sure you are participating in the class by sharing knowledge. You can get bonuses end of the semester if you have full attendance and participation as well.
• Therer are a lot of chances to earn bonus points, grab them!
• You have to read the book to do well in the IOA which will help you in the exam. You will get 90% MCQ and T/F from the IOA. IOA will be a big contributor in your grade. So do not forget to go through IOA before the exam otherwise you will have to suffer in the exam hall.
• Don't miss any lab. Make sure you bring a laptop in your Lab classes to grab a bonus and also with the required software installed. Please note that you must pay 100% attention to your Lab classes otherwise you will be lost.
• For the exam, try to solve the previous question paper. As a result, you will get a clear idea about the exam question. Read the book to collaborate with the concept. If you study hard for this exam, you can easily get 100% marks which will motivate you to do better in the next part of the course.
• You need to work hard to acquire good marks in GA (group assignments). Always finish your works before deadline and make sure everything is to the point don’t write extra stuff in report or presentation or which you might lose points.
• Have a clear understanding about the course website- how to use the FAQ and policies So, don’t get demotivated if you do not get a good score in your first mid because the faculty gives you enough chances to grab a bonus.

This is Umme Kulsum Mina, and I have completed the MIS107 – (Computer Information System) course with Mr. Adeyl Khan during the Fall 2019 semester. Here are some tactics I would suggest you-

1. Browse Through The Course Website : You will find a lot of contents related to this course such as course outline, office hour, slides, sample questions and so on. Keep an eye on the course website routinely and it also worked as a reminder for me . As I found all the study material in one place.
2. Read The Book: For starter you need the book called “Introduction To Information Systems “ Written by Georage M. Marakas and James A. O’brien. I used to solve the Review Quizes which you will find at the end of every chapter and the solution is in the last part of the book, all the questions that you will face on IOA’s comes directly from the books .
3. Sample Questions : The more you will solve the sample questions , the more will be easy for you to score good grades . Solving sample questions will help in your Midterms And Final.
4. 4. Last Not The Least : Don't miss any classes ,labs and group assignments/presentations. 

To conclude,The faculty is a bit strict faculty but also friendly and helpful one. If you face any kind of problems, visit him at his office hours and you can post in group.

My name is Fahim Farhan Sajid and I did MIS 107 during Fall 19 with one of the best faculties I’ve ever had, Mr. Adeyl Khan.

MIS 107 is an introductory course of management information system which might seem a bit difficult at first to catch up with but in reality it will give you a vast idea of management with the help of technology. The course will make you understand a lot of the concept with lively examples and diagrams. It will also enrich your idea of Information System. 

On our very first class, the faculty showed us the previous students who were mentioned in the Hall of Fame and since then I had this urge in me of putting my name up there. This is an amazing initiative to inspire students. I must confess, I didn’t study too much for this course but I followed a few simple strategies/rules to cope up with my schedule. Hope these will help you to get your desired grades. 

• On the very first thing that you need to do is come to class on time and be attentive. Listen to the lecture and try to understand. Write down everything he writes on the white board. Trust me you’ll find it very easy to study before your exams.
• Draw every diagram he mentions and try to write your answers with diagrams or charts. As the adage goes- A picture is worth a thousand words . There are several diagrams on the slides as well, you’ll get diagrams on exams directly from them. 
• Maintain professionalism and deal with everything smartly. As this is a managerial course, you are expected to dress and act professionally. 
• Use the course website, this is an amazing thing done by our faculty. The course website will help you a lot for this course, You’ll find a lot of information for this course in the website consisting previous questions, slides, handouts etc. 
• Give the online quizzes aka IOAs. Trust me on this, you’ll get all your MCQS in midterms and final from these IOAS. They might seem complicated but they are really easy once you do one or two.. 
• Solve previous questions which are already on the website. These will help you in exams. By doing this I found the midterms and finals very easy and had a thorough idea of how the questions might come and what to write. 
• On the group project, choose your group mates wisely. This is one of the most important things, failing to do that you’ll end up with poor marks on reports and there’s no doubt in that.
• Do the labs properly and by your own self, understand what you are doing and look into it cause, you’ll get a broad question in midterms and final from the lab work.
• Bonus- keep track of them, try to get every bonus and they are very easy to obtain, I repeat, these will really help you to get your marks high. Get all the bonuses and even if you do poor in one exam these will carry your gap.
• Use the office hours properly, the faculty is really very helpful to the students, first try to consult your problems with the class monitors and if there’s something rather specific, the faculty will help you.

These are the things that I did during my semester and these were good enough for me to get my desired goal. I’d like to say Mr. Adeyl Khan is an amazing faculty and he really encourages his students to do better in their lives. I am Sakib Mahmud and I have completed MIS107 during the fall’19 semester with our beloved faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan.

MIS107 is an introductory course which familiarizes students with management information system. This course is a bit technical but the faculty has easy examples and diagrams to make it simple. In this era of modern science and technology, the priority of information technology is increasing at a rapid rate. This course will allow you to take a look into how MIS actually works and will be beneficial to your future career in a lot of ways.

After knowing that there is a “Hall of Fame” section it has been my goal to be there upon my completion of the course. Finally, I have been blessed to have a chance to be here. The “Hall of Fame” section has motivated not only me but also a lot of my course mates to strive for a good grade. Kudos to Mr. Khan for creating such a unique feature in his website to inspire students. I have followed some simple and efficient strategies to secure an A. I will be adding them here. I hope they will be helpful for you as well.

• My first advice would be to listen to the lectures carefully and attentively. There are a lot of bonuses which you can easily obtain only if you stay attentive and trust me on this, these bonuses will really help you to achieve your desired grade.
• Please use the course website. Our respected faculty has made an amazing website for us to use. There are everything you need regarding this course in the website. This website will be your partner throughout this course and if you use the resources efficiently, this course will be a piece of cake to you.
• Understand the course, focus on the class, take relevant notes. The classes uses a lot of diagrams. Try to understand the diagrams and the course will go smooth for you
• Maintain professionalism, it is a managerial course. You are expected to dress and act professionally. Also be punctual, attend the classes on regular basis and on time. A lot of information is given in every class so you shouldn’t miss them.
• You will be able to find previous questions in the course website. Please solve them before the mids and the final. If you have a clear understanding of the previous question you will be able to score high marks in the exams
• Give the IOAs in the website. The faculty will describe them properly in class. The IOAs will also help you to get high scores in mids and finals because you will find a lot of questions repeated there.
• Do the assignments. Choose your group mates wisely and do all the GAs. Don’t forget to take bonus here as well.
• Follow the slides, especially the diagrams. You will find a lot of diagrams directly from the slides in the exam. So if you understand and memorize the diagrams it will be easy for you to answer.
• Make proper use of the office hours. He is very helpful and appreciate students.

In conclusion, I found the course fun and interesting. If you follow the lectures and make use of the website and materials you will surely be able to secure a good grade.
