How I got a good grade:

Good day everyone,

I did the MIS207 course under Mr. Adeyl Khan. To be honest before doing his class I was skeptical and even thought of dropping the course but Alhamdulliah got an A at the end of the semester. I appreciated the help and effort provided by the faculty. Here are my takes

  • The things that helped me to achieve a good grade were the lecture videos which we received before the class.
  • The Class Participation points method prepared me for the exams and assignments.
  • Slides and lecture videos are more than enough to get a good grade if a person understands the concept.
  • I would advise everyone to participate in every bonus activity and to get as much as possible marks in them.
  • I get that electricity can be a challenge when attending any courses so I would suggest everyone to use a laptop and to always keep data on your phone.
  • Oh one more thing try to get into a good group.

Hope you have a nice day. I would like to help anyone with anything regarding Mis207 so feel free to contact me at https://www.facebook.com/ashiq.islam.9

How I got a good grade:

Greetings to everyone,

I hope everyone is safe and healthy in this critical time. This is Tasnim Tabassum Mustafa and I have completed my MIS207 course under the guidance of one of the most organized and respected faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan in Summer-2020 session. This semester has been very different as it brought out many challenges for us as it was totally online based which is something we were not familiar with. As this was a slightly tough semester for us, there are some things I needed to do in order to keep up with the classes.

Firstly, as it was an online based semester it was very important for us to have a computer as the usage of computers is imperative for this course especially for Labs because it requires the usage of some software’s which is not operatable on mobile phones. So, I would suggest before starting on in this course, make sure you have an operatable computer (if you don’t have a personal laptop please borrow it from someone but make sure you have one).

Next, the thing I made sure was having a proper usable internet connection. Even in case of electricity cut or other Wi-Fi issues, I never faced any problems as I had always kept sufficient data on my phone.

Thirdly, I would suggest everyone to follow and keep checking the course website (https://adeyl.com/iteach/) as it contains everything from the course materials to announcements of important dates to the office hours to the lecture and online class videos to FAQ’s and many more.

There are a few things needed to be done in order to do well and below is the list of things that I did to maintain good marks and to stay focused:

  1. Attended all the classes and on time.

  2. Always went through lecture videos before attending the class and participated on the class discussion regularly through which I earned my participation points and also had a better and clear understanding on the topic (Tip: Take a break and watch the lecture video in intervals).

  3. Grabbed all the bonuses (You will get a lot of chances to get bonuses, try to avail each of them)

  4. Solved the sample questions before sitting on for mids and final (It helps in understanding the question pattern).

  5. Researched a lot (Do not rely solely on the course materials, there are a lot of useful information on the internet, use them and increase your knowledge).

  6. Tried relating every concept in companies’ perspective.

Lastly, to conclude I want to say in order to perform good in this course and in any other course keep your spirits high and try to stay as positive as you can. You will learn a lot from this cool(est) faculty. Wish you a wonderful semester. Sleep well and eat a lot of kacchi!

How I got a good grade:

Hello everyone,

I am Tasnim Hossain and I got an A in MIS207 with our honorable faculty, Mr. Adeyl Khan, in the Summer of 2020. As the whole semester had been conducted online, it was a new experience for all of us, making it a bit difficult to adapt at first. There were certain challenges that we had to overcome such as submitting assignments on time, managing a stable internet connection at all times, etc. however, I assure you that obtaining a good grade in this class is easy so long as you are ready to put in the required time and effort.

Managing technical issues: This was one of the biggest challenges in my experience this semester. I had to always make sure that I had enough balance in my phone to buy mobile data in case the electricity failure or the internet got disconnected. In addition, I would always make sure that my devices such as laptop and mobile phone were at least 75% charged before every lecture so I could at least attend the class and give my attendance even with the electricity failure.

Studying pattern: The faculty would upload specific chapter lecture videos the day before the chapter was taught in class. Therefore, we would watch the videos and prepare questions for the specific parts that we did not understand to ask them in class. Please, never hesitate to ask any of your questions. He will always answer them to make you properly understand. In addition, he will ask you questions based on what he covered in the lecture videos. Hence, I would advise you to be prepared so you can answer the questions and gain full class participation marks. In my experience, the unique method of giving class participation marks is what motivated me and my fellow classmates to study harder for this course. To prepare for the exams, I would recommend going through the slides, lecture videos and mind maps. By doing this, you will be guaranteed to be able to answer questions that may come in the exams. However, make sure you understand the questions properly before answering them since you will lose marks otherwise. The faculty is very approachable and will fully clarify what the questions you will ask if you visit him during his office hours.

Managing all four courses: Managing 4 courses online while a pandemic is still ongoing was stressful. However, I had no choice but to adapt just like everybody else. To manage these 4 courses, I had to use time management. I had to ensure that I was putting in equal amounts of time into each of my courses so I did not fall behind in any of them. Additionally, I would finish my work such as assignments and reports ahead of time and never leave it for the last second. This may sound simple but it was something that truly benefited me for all of my four courses.

One thing in my opinion that helped me get an A in mis207 was keeping a level head and always submitting the work before its due time. Instead of waiting for the last minute, finishing and submitting the work at least 4 hours earlier would prevent any penalization due to late submissions caused by technical issues such as internet disconnection, load shedding, etc. In addition, I made sure that I was following the guidelines provided so I would not lose out on any marks, especially in case of group assignments. I was very fortunate that I got an excellent group, including our group leader, Labiba Rahman, who ensured that we got work done properly ahead of time.

Please, do not fret if a quiz or mid exam goes badly. The faculty curves a lot for everyone which ensures that everyone has an equal chance to get a good grade with proper effort. He also provides a lot of bonuses so it is possible to recover back any marks you could have lost before. How I got a good grade:

Hello everyone,

A warm welcome to your new journey for the new semester. I have done the MIS207 under Mr. Adeyl Khan, and achieved an A.

I would like to let you all know that you can do it too, and it’s not rocket science. The faculty has been very generous and considerate for all of us. Not to mention, his classes are something I always looked forward to during the whole semester.

Now, I would like you to focus on some specific points which will definitely help you achieve a good grade in this course.

  • There are a lot of bonus opportunities, and when I say “a lot”, I mean it!!! So, try your best to grab them. There will be bonus for midterms, labs, class participation and what not!
  • Lecture videos will be posted on the website before your class, so please make sure you watch them, and note down any question you may have regarding the topic. The faculty will be asking you if you had any difficulty understanding the lesson. Secondly, you will have the opportunity to get points in each class for participation. So, when you are asked questions, try your best to answer! Now, here’s a thing to keep in mind, do not Google answers, and randomly participate in class. Make sure that your answers are based on the lecture videos. However, if you lose marks during class participation, do not worry. You will get multiple opportunities to participate, and once you answer correctly, you can definitely compensate for the point(s) that you lost.
  • Go through all the IOAs before quizzes, it will help you ace the quizzes, trust me.
  • All the midterm and final exam questions are given on the website. So, you have access to everything, so you gotta make the most use of that.
  • Last but not the least, please keep in touch with all your course mates. This is very important as your classes are going to be completely online. It’s better if you make a messenger group for your section.

MIS207 can add pressure along with your other courses. But let me assure you, if you survive, you will thank yourself at the end of the semester. And like I said before, surviving is not rocket science, you just have to maintain certain strategies.

Lastly, I would like to wish you all the best for this new journey. I am sure it’s going to be amazing. Things can get difficult, but there’s no excitement in getting everything in life the easy way, is there? In addition, I would very much like to help you if you have any queries or need any sort of assistance for the course. Please do not hesitate to message me on Facebook.
