MIS207 @ 2020 Summer

I am Md. Mehedi Hasan and I have done the MIS207 (Ebusiness) course in Summer-2020 under our respectable faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan. He was super cool in the whole semester.

I would like to let you know that MIS207 with this faculty is more like a game. You just have to be a good player in this game and you will get to know why it is called a game. Bonus! Bonus! Bonus! Getting an ‘A’ grade is much easier than getting a ‘B’ grade from him, believe me! Even I ended up getting an ‘A’ :). All my classmates helped me a lot too. You will have a lot of fun during the course. You will get to learn many many things from him and can execute those learnings in your practical life. There are many hacks that also can help you get an A grade in this course. First of all, don't forget to get connected with all of your course mates via facebook messenger. To achieve the full number in class participation, you will have to watch the lecture videos. In the class, when the faculty will be asking the questions (participation) try to give answers immediately. To do well in the Midterms and Final exams, you will have to watch the exam review class recording where the faculty solves many questions. The interesting thing is that you will find similar questions in the exam. Try to do all the lab assignments or group assignments after having a clear understanding because it will also help you in exams. Last of all, don't fear about giving viva. You will get full marks if your ideas regarding the questions are clear. It matters less if you could not clearly answer in the examination in the short time if you can explain those answers nicely during the viva. If you have any problems then don't hesitate to contact the faculty in the office hours.

I hope you are in good health. I am Md. Azmol Hasib Bhuiyan and I have done the course, E Business (MIS207) with Mr. Adeyl Khan in the Summer 2020 semester. I wish you a very good semester and I hope you’ll also end up getting a very good grade and be featured in the Hall of Fame. 

This semester, Fall 2020, will be totally online-based. Do not panic, you’ll get more learning & researching opportunities. You need to be focused and organized with your activities though. Do try to pay attention in the classes even though you can do anything during an online class. Be responsive, ask questions and keep a 100% attendance in a class. If you face any difficulties do not hesitate to email the faculty or meet him during an office hour. The faculty is very friendly and the classes interactive and can be fun if you pay attention. I found the faculty very cooperative in answering questions. So, do not hesitate to ask him for advice if you get stuck anywhere in the course.

Google Classroom, Meet & Attendance: Faculty post every notice & assignment here. You’ll find all the important resources here too. You have to submit your task via google classroom. So, keep your notifications on. Do not miss classes, be on time & attentive to the class. I can’t stress this point enough. A lot of information is given in every class, so if you miss a class there will be a big gap in your understanding. Also, there is a hefty bonus for having full attendance, so be sure not to miss out on free marks. Keep notes of the various diagrams the faculty shows. Faculty will provide you a mind mapping software, always collect the mind map as they will help you get a summary of the topic at a glance. Do not hesitate to answer the sudden questions he will ask, even if you’re wrong. It’ll only help you further your knowledge.

Course Website: This will be your bread and butter for this course. Learn the ins and outs of the course website at your earliest convenience. This is where you will get all the updates about the course. All the slides, IOAs, assignment, lab and bonus details will be delivered to you through the website. So, do keep a regular eye on the course website throughout the semester.

IOAs: Solve the IOAs as soon as they are posted on the website. It will help you earn your Bonus.

Lab Work: Labs are generally very simple and easy to follow. And you’ll get complete advantage of online classes as our faculty share the recorded class on the course website. Just follow the instructions and you will be good to go. But if you are having difficulties, be sure to come forward with your problem.

Group Assignments: Be sure to choose your group mates carefully. Try to maintain a constant back and forth communication with them. Online GAs are fun if you use tools like google docs and google slides to work with your team. The faculty is very critical while checking group assignments so if you are missing a part it can be detrimental to your GA grade. To avoid any missing part, talk to the faculty during an office hour before the deadline, and ask for the support. The faculty will point out your lacking’s.

Sample Questions: Solve the sample questions from the previous semesters before midterms & finals. You will get a very good idea about the short and broad question patterns. And you’ll get most of the common.

Bonuses: I must say NEVER MISS A BONUS! There are a lot of opportunities to get bonuses throughout the semester. So, be sure to keep an eye out on the course website and in class notices about them. Bonuses generally involve easy and simple tasks. These will add up and make a considerable contribution to your final grade.

Finally, my advice would be approach the course with an open mind and have fun- simply enjoy the course. Of course, the world is in a different situation right now but we should keep moving on with the new norm. Think about the better side of this online semester, you don’t have to waste time on traffic jams. You got more time to build yourself- learning & growing! Don’t get stressed out about anything. Remember, what you get always depends on your dedication and willingness to put in the work.

I am Sheikh Sania and I had the most wonderful opportunity to complete the MIS207 (Ebusiness) course under the guidance of Mr. Adeyl Khan in the Summer, 2020. 

A few things that were very crucial during the (online) semester was having a laptop, a high speed Internet connection, and a constant electricity supply. Having the benefits of it all in a country like Bangladesh isn't always easy. Here's something I did to help myself overcome any disruptions- despite having a Wi-Fi connection, I made sure that there was always enough data on my phone available to attend classes using a hotspot when the electricity ran out. 

In order to ensure that you ace the course, here are a few suggestions that you could follow; 

1. Lecture recordings are uploaded 24 hours before a class and slides are always available at the course website, so make sure to go through it all and note down all your doubts before your scheduled class timing. Ask the faculty about your doubts and try to answer questions in class to grab all the participation points and bonus opportunities. 
2. Take your attendance seriously and be present at all classes. There's a bonus opportunity in that.
3. Keep in contact with your classmates. If you maintain good communication with them, you will get plenty of help in understanding the course well.
4. Submit all the assigned works on time to ensure you don't miss marks due to late submission. And never leave work (assignments) for later, once something is assigned start working on it at your earliest to avoid the last minute pressure.
5. You will get plenty of bonus opportunities throughout the course, make sure to participate in all of them.
6. All the questions asked during your midterms and final are always discussed in class, so be attentive and take notes during class.
7. Studying just one subject throughout the day can get boring and frustrating, so try to mix and match and study other courses in between to avoid being pressured by just one course.
8. Practice IOAs and Sample Questions before exams and quizzes. This gives you a better idea of what you should be expecting on your quizzes and exams.

I am Sharafat Ullah from BBA department 192 batch. I did my MIS107 (Computer Information System) and MIS207 (Ebusiness) course in consecutive semesters under the faculty and achieved A- in both of the courses. As MIS207 was conducted totally online, it was a bit difficult to keep track. 

First I used my laptop to attend classes and made sure the device is fully charged beforehand. In case of any disruption, I kept my mobile standby with additional data as a backup device. Lecture videos were posted a day before the class. I would suggest to go through the slides first and then watch the lecture videos, this way I think it is much easier to get the concepts. I used to watch the videos regularly and participate in Q&A sessions in class to get participation points. Don’t be shy and ask any questions you might have.

There are two projects regarding group work, so make your group wisely. It actually carries a great portion of marks. As I did 4 subjects (courses), I would agree that I felt much pressure coping up with the studies. I would suggest to start getting on the projects as soon as you get them. I guess you guys will have viva from now on, trust me, it's super easy, no need to panic. Overall, best of luck. May you have a wonderful semester.

This is Abdul Wazed Chowdhury Siam. I have done the course MIS207 (EBusiness) with one of the finest faculty of the Department of Management, Mr. Adeyl Khan, during the Summer 2020 semester. This has been an extraordinary and comparatively tough semester for all of us (due to the pandemic) and I must say I am very lucky for being able to complete the course MIS207 and obtain an A under the earnest guidance of the faculty.

The semester has been quite hectic for starting with online classes for the whole semester due to COVID-19 pandemic. But whether it is an on-campus or online academic process, I would say the key constant for attaining good grades is discipline and consistency. The course might seem tough and confusing at first, but attending classes regularly and concentrating in class instructions will eventually clear all the doubts and pave the way to success. Here are some suggestions from me that might help you to obtain your desired grades-

Bonus Tasks: Gripping the opportunities to obtain bonus marks are more important than you may think. Utilizing every chance to get bonus marks leads to an increased total percentage of grades and thus increase the chances of ending up with a good grade.

Class Participation: Staying present and active in online classes is extremely important. The topics of a lecture cannot be clearly understood without attending and concentrating in class. Also responding to class questions, and following examples mentioned in class helped me to understand assigned topics and assignments better. Moreover, clearing any relevant and topic-oriented doubt is easiest through active participation in class discussions.

Communication: Communicating and reaching for assistance for any course related confusions is critical for success. The faculty was cooperative in such cases when we (group) reached for suggestions and clarification both during office hours and through mails. We found the faculty responsive. The class representatives have been the most cooperative and supportive towards us.

Consistency: Consistency in study is very important. Procrastinating and pilling tasks, assignments and topics to complete later brings no good. Starting working on tasks right before the deadline increases stress and decreases the quality of the task, whether it is assignment or exam. I maintained preparing and following a routine for completing daily study and tasks for MIS as well as for other courses. That really helped me to keep the balance and to never miss the deadlines.

Course Website: Every information and document needed for proceeding with the course are provided in the course website. Course related information and updates are organized and easy to find in the website. You must not forget to check the course website for updates, notices and other necessary elements regularly. When in need of anything related to the course, search it on the website first, take a glance in the FAQ section when you feel lost.

Group Assignments: Group works contain a significant portion of total marks, so paying attention to this is must. Try to accomplish optional ones as well for obtaining bonus thus better grades. With my issues regarding GA structure and topics, I contacted the faculty for help during an office hour and the faculty explained and omitted confusion kindly. That helped me a lot so I’ll suggest trying the same for other students too.

At the end, what matters the most is relishing the course and the topics taught in this course. Keeping the spirit up, mind open for learning and concentration sharp are the keys of cherishment. Finally, I hope this course and my suggestions will help to evolve you for the better.
