MIS207 @ 2021 Fall

Assalamualaikum everyone,

I am Imtiaz Anik, and I have completed my course MIS207 (E-Business) under the guidance of our respected faculty Mr. Adeyl Khan in Fall 2021.

The course was online because of the pandemic. I ensured I had access to a charged laptop and a stable internet connection for the class activities. In addition, I made sure I had backup devices and internet during classes and exams.

During exam time, I watched the lecture videos, took notes, and referred to Mind Maps (that's a must). While taking notes, I wrote examples from an organizational perspective, making my concepts clearer. Also, solving previous exam papers helped me understand the question pattern. Moreover, before exams, the faculty solved a previous question paper in class which helped me figure out how to answer the questions better.

Make sure to attend all classes attentively. During the semester, missing out on a class or two might not seem like a big deal, but it will make you lose track of the syllabus and hamper your grade. The full-attendance bonus is yet another reason not to miss a class. Watch the lecture videos on YouTube the night before your class; it will make you understand the lecture better. Attend all the bonuses, particularly for midterm and final examinations. You must go through the question bank to get a good score in the bonus quizzes.

Install all the required software beforehand to avoid any hassle during lab time. Attain the bonuses- Solve the question banks before quizzes. Follow the mindmaps and slides for the midterm and the final exam. Mind Map beforehand for project purposes. It is not difficult to get a grip on this software.

Take the course seriously, as the faculty will guide you and teach you things that will be necessary for your professional career. I feel very fortunate to have done the course under one of the coolest faculty at NSU, Alhamdulillah.

I hope my words will remain relevant to your journey throughout the semester. I, Lamia Zaman Binty, completed my course E-Business (MIS207) under our respected faculty, Mr. Adeyl Khan (AYN), in the Fall of 2021. I must start by stating that you have one of the most supportive and coolest faculty as permy experience at North South University till now.

I think you believe that you need to study hard to get a good grade in this course. To me, you don't need to study as hard if you do it smartly. Here are a few smart recommendations.

• Do the class by paying attention and try to participate by answering the questions. 
• Try to understand the concept properly with different examples rather than memorizing. Trust me- it helps a lot. Attend the class on time. If you are late, it breaks the flow of the class. 
• All the course materials, including lecture videos, are on canvas. So watch them before attending a class. It could be a bit difficult for you to understand the concept if you didn't watch the videos. 
• For midterms and the final, you will find the sample question from the previous semester. Solving it will help you a lot. There is a two marks bonus opportunity for every exam; try to attend these. 
• Do the lab properly. Lab work is really easy if you put some time into it.

I dedicated an hour or two regularly to the course. I watched the lecture videos on YouTube and went through the mind maps the night before my classes. The instructor recommended this on the course website (http://www.adeyl.com/). I was attentive and took notes of important things, and engaged in the discussions by answering questions during the lecture sessions.

Before exams, I solved all sets of sample questions from the course website and went through the slides. I found going through the mind maps thoroughly before the exams effective. Also, I used to revise the notes that I took during the lectures.

I managed to stay focused on different course loads by not procrastinating and finishing my everyday studies on time. I did all my assignments and lab work on time and did not wait for the last moment. You can make a to-do list and stick to your allocated routine.

I am Md. Ashraf Hossain and I completed the "E-business" course in Fall 2021 with Mr. Adeyl Khan. He is always ready to help and guide his students. You have to ensure a stable internet connection, a laptop, and mobile data for backup.

There are several critical factors to achieving a good grade.

2) Install all the required software beforehand to avoid any hassle during lab time.

3) Please watch the lecture videos before the class. After that, the class will be more sensible to you.

It’s my great pleasure to share my experience with this course. I believe it will help others to attain their desired grade. As MIS207 is a system-oriented course and I made a system in myself.

First, I always ensured that I was 100% attentive and took all details, insights, examples, and concepts from a lecture. I kept a backup to achieve this- I logged into the online classes with both my laptop and mobile. I didn’t just rely on wifi and kept a mobile-data backup ready at all times. That doesn’t mean I did the classes on the mobile; I used a laptop whenever possible and used a hotspot in case of a broadband issue. During the hybrid classes, I went to class carrying my laptop to take screenshots and draw mindmaps as required.

I tried to study smart. After the lecture, I made mindmaps of the whole lecture. I highlighted the terms I found difficult and googled them. The exam questions were conceptual and context-based. So I always maintained a clear concept. If I felt like it was not clear, I asked the faculty during office hours. The sample questions provided are a must to get common questions. So I prepared answers for them thoughtfully, and it boosted my confidence. What helped me get a better grade than other students was that I followed the instruction provided.

I used Google Keep to note down the instructions to avoid forgetting them. I was amazed to discover mindmaps in this class. I found mindmaps make concepts very clear, yet some students did not use them effectively.

As a student of NSU, we chose a few courses every semester, and I had my share of course loads. I allocated time and assigned myself to the tasks for different courses. I didn’t procrastinate and didn’t wait for any deadlines at the last moment. I did all assignments timely and in advance if possible. So my courses or their studies didn’t conflict or hamper each other. Following the class decreased my workload- the interaction, taking notes, creating mindmaps, doing the labs. So, put all your energies into the classes- you will learn a lot.

The course touched real-world scenarios in a few cases, and it can improve your professional career. So take it seriously and follow the instructions. I can bet you there are few if any, such a cool and process-oriented faculty. So don’t waste your time and go with the flow of class instructions. Lift your enthusiasm to the class, know and learn a lot, and a good grade will follow you.
